September’s Birthday flower is the Aster flower of birth and like every other flower, has symbolism and meanings, with perhaps meanings attached to the tips of the star-shaped flower. The Aster is described as a dainty flower, which carries charm of its own. The Aster flowers come in a myriad of different colours and hues. Purple is a regal colour and in its own right, signifies that of special. Asters also come in white, pink and red and all signify, everything from purity through beauty, to that of religious belief. Modern-day variations of colours also exist, which has been by the cross-fertilization, which became prevalent during the 1700s onwards by the Dutch and then exploded worldwide, as growing methods became easier to control and market consumption blossomed. We have a propensity, to only look as far back as the Victorian era, to ascertain the symbolism and meanings, perhaps only because the Victorian era of flower meanings and the symbolism of the flowers, was a bit like getting a text message in today's world. Flowers had become plentiful and lent themselves to the unsaid words of the Victorian era. The Aster flower however is not a modern flower. The flower is at least traced back through time and empires to the Greek era, where much of the philosophy was written and is still studied and implemented today. The Aster flower's core meanings are that of love like so many other flowers but the Aster Flower covers so much more, where achievement, faith, good luck, bravery, and patience, all had a hand to play, leading to ultimately wisdom of the day. The Aster Flower in essence represents the first conception and birth, within the same year. The symbolism is the fruits of a seed planted early and a joyous arrival in the late summer. The harvest will have been brought in. The focus on autumn becoming prevalent and the timing of the birth reflects the wisdom of bringing a child into the world, with grain in the store, the weather still warm, and faith in God of delivering not only a beautiful newborn but a harvest too. The good fortune of achievement and that love conquers all. It could be said, that the September birth was probably the most planned birth in times, when the sun, rain, and the fertility of the earth were at their most advantageous waiting for the newborn arrival. There would be extra time to focus on the newborn in September and the bonding experience of couples in bygone years would be at their highest, as the hard graft of summer had started to ebb as new life sprouted. The simple Aster flower is multi-dimensional, in its wide range of meanings and symbolisms, which do not have any hidden meanings. The strength of the meanings is high, the purity of the meanings is high and the understandability of the meanings is high. One can say, there are no grey areas in any of the meanings or symbolism. Perhaps why the Aster is selected for many more occasions other than birth. The Aster is simply divine in its appearance and simple in its message and carries enormous power from the giver to the receiver on so many levels.
