Send flowers from Illinois to Cardiff, Caerphilly, The Rhondda Valley, Newport, Blackwood, and Tredegar, South Wales UK

My Name is Nicola Downie and my florist shop is Nicola Downie. I am based on Cardiff Road in Caerphilly town center.

I get quite a few orders from the USA, from Welsh people who have migrated to the USA, Welsh people working in the USA and American people who have struck up a relationship with someone living in South Wales and within my delivery area. There appear to be many of the above relationships of people with Illinois I have mentioned above and Welsh families have been traditionally quite large and migration from Wales to the USA, has been occurring for over 200 years. There are still people migrating to the USA and many send flowers to their families in Wales because they miss their families and loved ones, as well as their friends.

Flowers are a very powerful way of sending an emotion, be it happy or sad.

I always have a good selection of seasonal flowers in stock, because I receive daily deliveries of fresh beautiful flowers. I only purchase the best quality flowers in beautiful colors because I want my customers to be happy and return and it wouldn’t sit comfortably with me, purchasing anything other than the best quality flowers. 

I have been a florist for over 25 years. I am fully qualified and trained. I am recognized by The Good Florist Guide, as being exceptional, which represents less than 1% of florists in the UK.   

So, I just recently decided to write a blog from different countries and from where I have received orders.
A flower order from Illinois was pretty recent. It is a bit like a geography and history lesson for me because I read up about the state and what the state is famous for. 

When I Googled Illinois; Abraham Lincoln popped up! I was very interested to read about his political journey, to his final resting place in Evans Cemetery aka Springbank Cemetery.

I didn’t realize how large Illinois is. 

Chicago sitting on the banks of Lake Michigan and the UK would comfortably fit into Lake Michigan. 

I was interested to read that the designated flower of Chicago is the Chrysanthemum, the international birth flower of November. The Chrysanthemum is held in high esteem for its healing powers and the Illinois state flower is the violet, which denotes humility and humility and dovetails really well with the state flower being the Chrysanthemum.

I then had a look at Peoria, which has evolved from manufacturing beer to being a major hub of moving agricultural produce and appears to be named after another flower, the Peoria flower which brings joy and happiness and it appears that the residents of Peoria enjoy flowers by the volume of florists in Peoria.

Although Springfield doesn’t appear to be represented by a flower, like the state or Chicago has the most amazing gardens. Rockford Illinois is similar to Peoria with beautiful gardens open to the public of which the botanical garden is huge. I have just noticed that Chicago is described as the city of gardens with no less than twelve amazing gardens. Champaign is yet another interesting city in Illinois. It is very much a seat of learning and culture, as well as more parks. Illinois is serviced by quite a lot of florists as well. 

I didn’t know what a Carillion was until I started looking at Naperville. Quite a musical instrument and to have two fine examples makes me think that Naperville is steeped in history and culture, and once again, a lot of parks, which appears to be a theme running through Illinois. As does the amount of florists. 

Joliet is an interesting city for sure with a mixture of industry and center of learning. Once again, there is an onus put on parkland and outdoor recreation, which is a theme that appears to run through the state of Illinois. Once again in Illinois, are the amount of florists.  

Elgin City has an interesting history from the largest producer of butter to the home of the Elgin watch company and at the time, the producer of the best watches made in the USA.  There are once again, a lot of recreational parks with activities and once again, a good selection of local florists.  

Schaumburg, the money magazine states that Schaumburg is the 9th best place to live in the USA. Once again, we find an outdoor-loving resident demographic, good shopping, and a safe place to live. Albeit not the only shopping mall the Woodfield Mall is over two million square feet which is enormous and has a lot of parks. Schaumburg is also home to a wide range of florists. I suppose Jeff Leatham must be the most famous florist in Schaumburg, as he is the florist of choice to many celebrities who must have or live in or around Schaumburg.

Edwardsville has 39 historical buildings and has grown exponentially since the first log cabin. It is a suburb of St Louis and appears to be quite traditional. Most people own their own homes and an enormous amount of parks per head of population. As well as having a large number of florists per head of population.
